There are many modalities of breathwork offered in the wellness world and each has its own uniqueness to them. All are beneficial in their own ways and any time that we come back to our own breath, and remember to fully breathe, we are doing ourselves a world of good. Coming back to your breath brings presence, stillness, and calm. The style of breathwork used here is conscious connected breathing. This breath allows you to restore your connection to your life force and gives you the opportunity to go within yourself and find the truth of who you are.  

Your body is an archive and stores many memories & stories within you, and with the use of breathwork you can tap into these places that other therapies cannot. It is an extremely powerful approach to self-exploration and realization. Your breath is the medicine here and you have it readily available to use at any time.  There is nothing more important than your breath. 

Each breathwork experience is unique to the individual’s life situations and intentions. The results can include healing on many levels; physical, emotional and spiritual, mental and ethereal. Nobody can do this type of healing for you, but you.

Long-held trauma can often be released in a guided breathwork session, creating more space within for you to fill with peace, hopefulness and desires.  With expanded awareness we are able to see our lives from different points of view, allowing us to actively make more empowered choices.

How Does a Breathwork Session Work?

Prior to your session, we will go over any intentions you may have going into your breathwork. The conscious breathing session is usually done lying down comfortably on your back with blankets and pillows provided, however, feels best to you. I will hold the space for you in the spirit of shamanism and be your guide throughout.  You will be directed on how to develop connected breathing; this is where each breath (in & out) is connected to the last.  There are no pauses or gaps between the breaths. The inhale turns into the exhale, and the exhale merges with the inhale.  

The experience is supported by music, which begins with drumming or similar ‘driving’ music, it then reaches an emotional crescendo, transitions to ‘heart’ music, and often finishes with meditative sounds. At the end of the session, you will be guided to total groundedness, followed by plenty of water, and integration time about your experience.
